Hollywood is right to worry about AI replacing writers. It can’t write your script. That’s by design. We built this tool for writers, not to replace them or let them put their name on AI-written material. TRB reads and gives you notes, plain and simple.
You do the writing. The rooms read.
The Read Before doesn’t rewrite scenes or generate screenplay pages. It gives you development notes and may show a short proofread fragment with a correction. You decide what to change and write every scene in your own voice.
Your reads stay private. We don’t publish them or use them to market the product unless you explicitly give us permission.
What a revision read remembers.
It keeps the generated read and writer-safe memory from the rooms you reached: verdicts, conditions, unresolved notes, strengths to protect, and how the project moved. That is enough for a revision read to answer the rewrite without keeping the old script.
The new pages are judged fresh, as a new draft presented to the rooms. Revision memory can explain what changed. It can’t pretend an old scene is still on the page.
How your screenplay is processed and what we save.
- Your pages are processed to produce the read and are not kept.
- A major U.S. large language model provider processes them through its API to produce the read.
- The generated read and project metadata may be saved to your account.
- Your submitted pages are never used to train The Read Before.
- On a revision, writer-safe summaries and prior notes carry forward, not a saved copy of the earlier submission.
